              Director / Principal Speech Pathologist 
              Julie Hunt is a founding member of Next Challenge, with over fifteen years of clinical experience. Julie is passionate about working together with children and their families to facilitate the development of a child's communication skills, so they can participate and interact successfully in all aspects of their lives. Julies thrives on working wtihin a multidisciplinary team, believing in an holistic approach to service delivery and intervention. And she loves the fact that she gets to laugh so much with so many little people every day! :) Julie is also dedicated to working together with the Team at Next Challenge and she is committed to supporting their
              professional development and learning, to provide them with a broad range of clinical, leadership and project management experience.  Julie is extremely proud of each and every one of her staff in their ability to make a positive change.

              Amy Hollins
              Clinical Specialist - Occupational Therapy
              Amy is an Occupational Therapist with experience across a variety of areas including baby play, early intervention, school-aged therapy and home-visiting. Amy developed management and planning skills whilst working as a senior in a busy rural and remote centre of Western Australia. Amy has a keen interest in Rural, Indigenous and Primary Health and this led her to complete a rural fellowship last year. Amy enjoys working in close collaboration with communities, families and children and became well practised at this during her fellowship project entitled "Playing at the Park". Amy aims to continue to improve her capacity for developing ideas that will assist children to develop happily and healthily

              Michelle Quail
              Services Relationship Manager / Senior Speech Pathologist
              Michelle is a Senior Speech Pathologist who is passionate about helping children and their families. She really enjoys working in a vibrant and dynamic team and feels blessed to share in each child's developmental journey. Michelle sees a range of clients at Next Challenge and provides supervision to the Speech Pathology team and to Speech Pathology students. She also manages the external contracts Next Challenge holds with schools, universities, community organisations and government departments. Michelle also works at Playgroup WA as the state coordinator for the PlayConnect program, and has worked at Curtin University as an associate lecturer. Michelle has had her research into the benefit of providing visual supports to aid children's auditory memory published in the International Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and is also on the executive committee for the WA branch of Speech Pathology Australia. She is passionate about improving the community's awareness of the profession and what services are available and providing the highest level of family-centred, holistic therapy to all children. Next Challenge has provided Michelle with the unique opportunity to work in a job she loves, in an organisation she admires.

              Client Services Manager
              Sally has worked at Next Challenge since the early days of working from one office with very few staff. Sally is the backbone of Next Challenge, ensuring that all administrative functions of the company run smoothly, the families are happy and the therapists are informed and looked after.

              Angela Williams
              Contract Client Coordinator
              / Senior Physiotherapist
              Angela is a senior physiotherapist who is passionate about helping children and adults with neurological impairments achieve their full potential. Angela has extensive experience across a wide range of fields including developmental paediatrics, respiratory physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, spasticity management including post Botox therapy and serial casting, balance, postural assessment and education, gait and running re-training, chronic pain management, biomechanics and the prescription of orthotics for clients both with or without neurological impairment. Angela is able to offer a variety of services from consultation and advice, clinic based therapy, rehabilitation at home or school and hydrotherapy. Through her experience at Royal Perth Hospital, Angela developed fantastic leadership skills and thus also case manages all of the complex contract clients at Next Challenge.

              Haylee Rakich
              Occupational Therapist
              Haylee Rakich is an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about improving the quality of life of those she works with whilst facilitating autonomy and participation in the activities which signify these individual’s being. Haylee primarily provides occupational therapy for children in areas such as disability, assistive equipment and technological intervention, fine motor, daily living activities, behavioural management and sensory intervention, in addition to offering direct and consultative therapy for schools and playgroups. Haylee also facilitates weekly nature playgroups for children aged 1-5 years with the aim to equip parents with confidence, skills and activities to enable and encourage them and their children to engage in and learn through natural play within Perth’s natural playspaces. Haylee has previously worked in China in a specialist rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities, provided direct therapy services for children experiencing trauma in the Perth community, in addition to working in a rural setting in Western Australia with a wide range of clients and experiences. Haylee has a strong passion for working closely alongside her clients and their families and endeavours to provide the most family centred, innovative occupational therapy in order to enable positive health and wellbeing for these individuals.

              Casey Magee
              Speech Pathologist
              Casey is a Speech Pathologist who strongly believes in finding innovative and individual therapy solutions for all children, families and schools. Casey provides therapy for children with a variety of speech, language and literacy difficulties as well as offering therapy and consultancy services to schools. Casey has worked in Canada at a specialised language centre for hearing impaired and language delayed children, with a particular focus on auditory processing and social language training. She has recently become a Hanen-Certified Speech Pathologist, specialising in family-focused early language intervention. Casey loves the daily ‘challenges’ and looks forward to her continued partnership with Next Challenge’s families and schools.

              Tamika Harris
              Speech Pathologist
              Tamika joined the Next Challenge team in May 2011, and is currently working part-time (Thursday and Friday).  Tamika is an enthusiastic member of the team, who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those she works with.  After graduating from University of Queensland with a Masters in Speech Pathology Studies in 2007, she has worked in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.  Working in different settings throughout Australia has exposed her to a wide range of children with variety of needs. She has a particular interest in working with 0 – 10 year old paediatric population to develop their speech and language skills.  Tamika is motivated to constantly update her clinical skills to ensure that she is providing the most ‘up to date’ and evidence-based intervention.

              Therapy Assistants
              Lisa and Beth provide high-quality programs to a range of clients through the clinic, home and school setting under the supervision of our diverse therapy team. They are both in their fourth and final year of study (Speech Pathology and Physiotherapy respectively) and give Next Challenge the flexibilty to offer clients and schools more flexible options for service delivery.


              The Next Challenge Team is passionate about working with children and
              giving them the best opportunity to succeed. Our therapists specialise in family centred practice, working with families to plan goals and services for all children.
