Assets and Resources Policy

Next Challenge maintains an inventory of all assets, equipment, leases and regular supplies. All purchases are entered into Xero and an inventory spreadsheet. Inventory of resources is used for asset monitoring and maintenance on an annual basis. Resource inventories are updated to accurately reflect the status of Next Challenge assets and to plan additional purchases or lease requirements

Employees are able to request the purchase of therapy resources and assessments via the resource request spreadsheet located on the drive. Next Challenge purchase resources based on a fair price and acceptable quality. Up to 3 quotes for resources of greater than $100 are recommended. Cheapest resources may not always provide acceptable quality and therefore will not necessarily result in a purchase based on price only.

Next Challenge resources are managed by the Managing Director. New suppliers and catalogues are circulated to all Directors and Employees to assist in resource need identification. Purchases are prioritised by Directors and made within budget expenditure guidelines.

Next Challenge maintains a Copyright Agency licence to be able to use resources and images within the restrictions of the Copyright Act and that requires employees to comply with the Copyright Act at all times.

Leases and purchases above $200 must have a full Director agreement. Leases require both Directors signature.

Date of Policy: March 2004
Review Date: October 2019
Due for Review: October 2024

Next Challenge acknowledges (ana) Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and First Nations peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Country (Boodja) throughout Australia. We (Ngalak) are committed to honouring, seeing, and understanding (kootadjinong) their unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waterways (bilya), and seas (wardarn).

Next Challenge wants to thank and pay respects to the Whadjuk people and Elders, past, present, and emerging, of the Noongar Nation, who have preserved and protected the land (kanana) and waterways (bilya) on which we continue to play (waabiny), live (djooroobidiny), learn (kadadjiny), work, and provide services on today (yey).
