Feeding & Mealtime Therapy

What is a feeding therapist?
A feeding therapist is typically a speech pathologist or occupational therapist who has completed additional training in feeding and has a particular interest in the area.

How can a feeding therapist help my child?
Our feeding therapists are skilled in helping children in all of these areas:
  • Making bottle and/or breastfeeding easier
  • Increasing the range of foods that a child eats
  • Making chewing and swallowing safer and easier
  • Reducing stress and anxiety at mealtimes for the whole family
  • Feeding difficulties associated with tongue tie
  • Starting solids
  • Setting up ideal seating and positioning for mealtimes
  • Understanding sensory preferences

We have feeding therapists trained in these approaches:
  • SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding Therapy

All of our speech pathologists have experience working with children with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Kabuki Syndrome, William's Syndrome
