Puberty Plus Program: January 2025

Next Challenge will be running an intensive Puberty Plus program for students in years 5 and 6 during the January 2025 school holidays.

Our occupational therapists, Laura Tindale and Maddie Anwar, are registered facilitators of the 
Puberty Plus program. This is a safe, welcoming and inclusive puberty education program for young people who are autistic, neurodivergent or disabled. This program aims to equip young people with the essential knowledge and confidence they require to manage their own personal health and well-being needs.

The program will cover the following topics:


  • Getting to know yourself
  • Your body 
  • Keeping it clean: all about hygiene 
  • Menstruation - getting your period 
  • Menstruation - managing your period (or shaving for male identifying students)
  • Big feelings
  • The people around you
  • Friends and peer pressure 
  • Gender stereotypes 
  • Being more confident 

Dates/days:
Next Challenge will be running this 10 week program as an intensive for 5 days over the January 2025 school holiday break (i.e. equivalent of 2 sessions of content per day).

These sessions will run between 10am-12pm on the following dates: 
  • Wednesday 15th January
  • Thursday 16th January
  • Friday 17th January 
  • Wednesday 22 January
  • Thursday 23rd January 

**Please note if your child is unable to attend one or more sessions, they will need to cover the content at home, or can alternatively book in for a 1:1 session with either therapist.**

For age range:
  • Children currently in school years 5-6 (i.e.10-12 years old)

Cost:
  • Pending participant numbers, further information will be provided regarding cost prior to commencement of the group. 

Location:
Osborne Park clinic (Unit 4/14 Main Street, Osborne Park, 6017)

*Please note, if the clinic parking spaces are taken, you can also park:
- In the 2 hours parking at the bottom of the Baden St cul de sac
- Along Waterloo Street
