Implementation and Evaluation of Research and Development Policy

All Research and Development projects are assigned an ‘owner’. ‘Owners’ represent an end point for project monitoring and reporting purposes. However, many other Directors and Employees of Next Challenge may be involved in implementation of Research and Development projects at any one time.

Employees may request to contribute to projects, or task breakdowns may be assigned to employees based on their skill set and availability. The owner of the project maintains responsibility and provides quality checking regardless of who is involved in implementing particular tasks.

All projects and services initiated by Next Challenge are subject to the same evaluation.  When in the Development and Research stage, projects and services may be evaluated a number of times before the Directors agree to inclusion of that service as ‘standard’ operation.

Evaluation is based on analysis of both actual and perceived/intangible costs and benefits.

Process owners are required to present the evaluation and supporting documents to the Board of Directors if the recommendation is the introduction or continuation of the service/product.

Date of Policy:
October 2003

Date Review Completed:
October 2020
Due for Review: August 2022

Next Challenge acknowledges (ana) Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and First Nations peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Country (Boodja) throughout Australia. We (Ngalak) are committed to honouring, seeing, and understanding (kootadjinong) their unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waterways (bilya), and seas (wardarn).

Next Challenge wants to thank and pay respects to the Whadjuk people and Elders, past, present, and emerging, of the Noongar Nation, who have preserved and protected the land (kanana) and waterways (bilya) on which we continue to play (waabiny), live (djooroobidiny), learn (kadadjiny), work, and provide services on today (yey).
