Office Management Policy

Office Space Next Challenge maintains a high standard of cleanliness and presentation of offices. All Next Challenge Directors and Employees are expected to assist in the presentation and maintenance of the Next Challenge offices.
Office space is leased and reviewed annually to determine its suitability for the requirements of the company, its physical accessibility for employees and families and to identify any requirements for modification or change. Next Challenge utilises spaces to support families not limited to it main office and ensures services are offered in a suitably accessible site at all times e.g school, home etc. Next Challenge provides a flexible work environment to best meet the needs of its employees inclusive of work or remote site home options to ensure accessibility.

Security
Next Challenge Management and employees will maintain the security of Next Challenge premises, equipment and information. Next Challenge premises will not be left unattended without the door being locked. When at Next Challenge alone and with a client the Director or employee must remain aware of external entry into Next Challenge. When alone at Next Challenge after 5 pm the Next Challenge front door must be locked for safety and security.

Occupational Health and Safety
Next Challenge employees will be orientated to the Company Safety File and provided with appropriate information about, and training in, relevant occupational health and safety standards and practices.
Next Challenge designates an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) coordinator role that may be undertaken by an employee or Director. The role of the OSH coordinator is to:
  • Document all work-related accidents, injuries and illnesses and near misses;
  • Support the Managing Director to investigate, remedy and document all work-related accidents, injuries and/or illnesses and take appropriate action to minimise future occurrences;
  • Provide information about necessary equipment and suitable training in manual handling practice as required;
  • Determine the appropriate manual handling method for all relevant clients with specific manual handling needs. Methods will be determined by appropriate professional consultants (i.e. physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists) in consultation with the client; and
  • Support the Managing Director to investigate, remedy and document manual handling concerns reported by employees as near misses or grievances.
Where an employee suffers injury or illness, workers compensation insurance will be available and Next Challenge will implement a rehabilitation plan to assist the employee to return to work as soon as practicable.
