Private Vehicle Use Policy
Employees are requested to undertake travel for work requirements that may require the use of a private vehicle. Employees can request not to be allocated a workload requiring travel with the understanding that this may restrict the type and amount of employment the company can then offer them. In undertaking travel as part of a work requirements the following requirements must be met;

- The driver of the private vehicle must hold a current Western Australian motor vehicle drivers’ licence of the correct class for the vehicle being driven and the number of passengers being transported. A copy of a driver’s licence is requirements as part of employment guidelines if the employee is to complete travel for work requirements.
- Private motor vehicles that are to be used for work related travel must be comprehensively insured. Proof of insurance must be provided and kept as part of the employee’s record if they complete travel for work requirements.
- Private motor vehicles that are to be used for work related travel must be maintained in roadworthy condition.
- Clients of the organisation may not be be transported in private vehicles.
- The driver of the private vehicle is responsible for paying all traffic and parking fines incurred in the course of work related travel.
- Drivers must not drive a private vehicle on work related business if their blood alcohol level is above the legal 0.05 limit (or 0.01 for probationary drivers), they are under the influence of illegal drugs or they are taking medication that cautions against driving.
