To ensure that our clients can continue to receive support during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering Virtual Visits.

Accessing Virtual Visits
  1. I understand that Virtual Visits involve the use of electronic information and communication technologies by a health care provider to deliver services to an individual located at a different site.
  2. I understand the laws that protect privacy and the confidentiality of my medical information also apply to Virtual Visits.
  3. I understand while Virtual Visits have been found to be effective in providing assessment and therapy for a wide range of developmental difficulties, there is no guarantee that all treatment of all clients will be effective.
  4. I have been made aware of Zoom’s privacy policy and I understand that if I have any privacy concerns I can choose to access a phone or email service.

Technical Considerations
  1. I understand I am responsible for providing appropriate technology and internet connection for use in my physical location prior to a Virtual Visit commencing.
  2. I understand that I am responsible for information security on my computer/tablet.
  3. I understand that I am responsible for creating and maintaining my username(s) and password(s) and I will not share these.
  4. I understand that I am responsible for the privacy of the Virtual Visit and ensuring other individuals cannot hear my conversation.
  5. I understand that there are potential risks involving technology, including but not limited to:
    • Internet interruptions
    • Technical difficulties (e.g. software, computer, tablet malfunction)
  6. I understand that technical difficulties may result in service interruption and the provider (Next Challenge/Enhancing Learning/Tastebuds) is not responsible for any technical problems and do not guarantee that services will be available or work as expected.

Before and During a Virtual Visit
  1. I understand that I must tell my therapist everyone who is present in the room prior to starting a Virtual Visit.
  2. I understand that either the therapist or I can discontinue the teletherapy services for any reason.
  3. I understand that I am solely responsible for managing my child’s behaviour during a Virtual Visit.
  4. I understand that I am not permitted to record the Virtual Visit unless advised otherwise by my therapist

After a Virtual Visit

Next Challenge acknowledges (ana) Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and First Nations peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Country (Boodja) throughout Australia. We (Ngalak) are committed to honouring, seeing, and understanding (kootadjinong) their unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waterways (bilya), and seas (wardarn).

Next Challenge wants to thank and pay respects to the Whadjuk people and Elders, past, present, and emerging, of the Noongar Nation, who have preserved and protected the land (kanana) and waterways (bilya) on which we continue to play (waabiny), live (djooroobidiny), learn (kadadjiny), work, and provide services on today (yey).
